If you enjoy dealing with people or is handy with property repairs, then you may want to try your hand at managing the property yourself first. That way you can see if property management jobs are your cup of tea and you can also save money at the same time.

Being a landlord is something that becomes easier with experience so if you have been managing rental properties for a period of time you can consider just hiring a property manager just to handle certain property management jobs. For example you can choose to handle any property repairs yourself while your manager takes care of the tenants.

Selling price was 5,000 on a traditional 100% 30 year fixed. re-fi two weeks later on a 80/20 30 year fixed due to loan to value to avoid PMI. House just appraised for 0,000. Reason for wanting to sell: we would like to move closer to our jobs. But we would hate to give Uncle Sam free money.

I was in a fight 3 years ago…I was convicted of a Felon for 2.5 years..but now the Felony has been reduced to a misdemeanor. I’ve been offered around a dozen jobs in the last year but they are all retracted after my background check comes back. The latest was Best Buy! Even though I have worked for them for 2 years as a seasonal employee…they still retracted my offer because of this misdemeanor. One problem is the Minnesota statute my fight fell under was "Burglary" — even though it was not a theft related crime by any means. But if you are on someone’s property when you beat them up, it falls under "Burglary" in Minnesota.

So here’s my questions: Can I get this expunged? I’ve been told they usually only expunge drug related crimes?? In pretty much any other state it would be assault, and I could work at Best Buy? What industries are the least likely to run background checks?

Also, if I had a DUI that would be a Gross Misdemeanor – but that would be no big deal?

This is from an association with some crappy neighbors years ago. I am the person who informed the police of their activities. I had moved to New Orleans for work shortly after speaking with the police and when they arrested the two idiots…the two idiots claimed I was part of it. It is totally untrue. (and 15+ years later, probably without merit in terms of prosecution.) I recently went to Brazil to work on a film and when I returned to Los Angeles was stopped by customs and detained while they called Minnesota to ask if I would be extradited. Minnesota said ‘NO’ and I was allowed to go about my business. Please understand, had no idea there was a warrant!! What I need to know is this…I work low-paying filmwork jobs and do not have money to pay an attorney in Mn. 5000 to deal with this. Can Minnesota be forced to deleat the NCIC warrant based unwillingness to extradite and prosecute? If so, how I would pursue resolution? If not, what to do?

My girlfriend is a recent college graduate in interior design. She moved to minneapolis and has tried a lot of architecture firms to see who is hiring but to no avail. She is very upset that she cant find a job in her major because of the lack of hosuing and commecial starts in the current economy. my boyfriend and i are recent college graduates. I have been done for a year and moved to a big city, he graduated this spring and has done an internship in the same area. now his intern is almost done and he is looking for jobs. he hasnt found anything in the area and the one he is at the interview for right now is 4 hours away in a small town 2 hours away from anything big. the closest city is sioux falls, sd. i dont want to move there, but i left him to move to minneapolis which was an hour and half drive away and he still put up w/ it its not very nice of me to say he cant go. i want him to get farther in his career, but weve already spent a whole year apart and dont know if we can handle 4 hour difference. just let him go and hope it works out? move there with him and find whatever kind of job i can get. any ideas?

So I’ve narrowed down my two cities of choice between Denver and Minneapolis. Both are great cities but I can’t decide which one.

Here’s my dilemma:
My mother is moving to Denver and we are very close. She gives me input on almost every decision I make and she is very supportive of me. She wants me to move to Denver for school so I can still be close to her. Denver is also my favorite city and I love the mountains and all the recreation that comes with them. I always have a good time in Denver and I know the area very well.

However, I don’t know a single soul in Denver and I would have to wait a year to start school so I could get in-state tuition. Denver is also very expensive in comparison to Minneapolis.

Then there’s Minneapolis. If I move to Minneapolis my mother would not be able to visit me very often and I’m scared we would eventually lose touch. However, I have a lot of friends in Minneapolis and it would be VERY VERY cheap for me to live there. My car is already registered in MN because I bought it there. I know Minneapolis very well too and I always have a great time. Wages are higher in Minneapolis so I wouldn’t have to work two jobs to get by like I probably would in Denver. And the school is cheaper because I can get in-state tuition there immediately.

However, I hate the winters in Minneapolis and I don’t find it to be as much fun as Denver. Not to mention, I’d be far away from my mom and I’d miss mountains too. (You get attached to them!)

Overall, I like both cities but Denver is my favorite and I’d have my mom there. However, Minneapolis is MUCH more affordable and I’d have a lot of really close friends there too and I know I’d have a great time living there. Currently, I live in Rapid City and I’m 19 so it’s time to start making these big choices.
