Chargers,Jaguars,Vikings,Rams & Raiders Among NFL Teams that Could Move to LA?

John Semcken has officially announced his hit list for NFL franchises to lure to Los Angeles, and it looks like the L.A. Times guessed right:

Semcken said new talks would begin after the Super Bowl in February, and may involve the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Buffalo Bills, the Minnesota Vikings, the St. Louis Rams, the Chargers and the Oakland Raiders.

The San Francisco 49ers could also be pursued if a vote for a new stadium in Santa Clara fails.

Semcken said a new stadium could open in 2013, but a team could be relocated as early as next year or the year after, playing at a temporary site for the first couple of years.

In related news, Majestic owner Ed Roski has lost billion of his .5 billion net worth in the last year, according to Forbes, thanks to the California real estate crash. Stadium consultant Marc Ganis calls this "significant"; Majestic says it’s just a flesh wound.

Are the Minnesota Vikings definitely getting a brand-new stadium?

Hey there Minny residents. I have a question for all the Minnesota Vikings fans here.

A lot of sports teams are getting grand-spanking new stadiums. The Dallas Cowboys just got one this past year. The NY Giants are getting one next year. And a new NFL stadium is in the works in the Los Angeles area; it’s just a question of which team is going to relocate to there.

So…

Is it true that the Vikings are actually going to get a new stadium?

Is it really going to happen? How far along are they in the approval process? When will be the groundbreaking?

Does anyone here know for sure?

I mean- The Twins are getting Target Field next year. So the Vikes should get one of their own.

I read today that there were a possible 8 teams that could move to L.A., which ones are they?

According to this Philadelphia Inquirer article

http://www.philly.com/inquirer/sports/20090227_NFL___Jacobs__Giants_need_Burress_back.html

there are indications that the Oakland Raiders, Minnesota Vikings, and Buffalo Bills are candidates to move to the area. But which teams are the other five?

I’ve read in the past that the Seahawks, Jaguars, and Bengals could move. And this was before Hurricane Katrina had the Saints in rumors headed for San Antonio. But I can’t figure out what other teams are considering relocation. Have you heard anything?

Should the NFL start thinking relocation?

With the system that the NFL has in place now, its very doubtful that they will bring in any more expansion teams for a while. However, they can reloacate a team and some NFL teams have waning fan bases that could use a new home.

We all know, that the Ralph Wilson Jr. is extremely commited to the city of Buffalo, but after his time in Buffalo is done, the Bills will be extremely vulnerable for reloaction

Also, the Jacksonville Jaguars don’t exactly have a large fan base either. I have no idea, what the NFL was thinking giving Jacksonville a team in the first place. Its not that big of a city compared to some others and if your gonna be a small town and have a team, you better be very passionate (Green Bay and Kansas City)

So, I can see the Jags leaving town in the near future.

The Minnesota Vikings are having stadium issues, so they may also be vulnerable to reloacation.

If a team were to relocate, I would figure, they would go to a city such as San Antonio, Salt Lake City or Oklahoma City. All humble western cities, who have proven to be dedicated to their sports teams in the past.

Los Angeles and Las Vegas have to be out of the question for now. The NFL wants to avoid the shady gambling scene of Las Vegas and apparently, the Los Angeles officials aren’t cooperating with the NFL and many people say that LA Fans, just wouldn’t care.

What do you guys think? I say go ahead and do it and reloacte an NFL Team. A Change of Scenery would be a welcome for a few NFL Teams
I just can’t see an NFL Team in Portland. Talking to a few guys on the Internet, that live in Portland, they say that most Portlanders are too "hip" for an NFL team and the ones that do like the NFL, root for the 49ers or the Seahawks.

Portland just seems to similar to Jacksonville, in terms of size imo
