Good midwestern singletrack biking vacation destination?

Hello,
A group of us are looking to take a mountain biking vacation next summer and we’re just looking for some suggestions. We would like to do a week-long trip, with about 4 days of biking and the rest of the time available for driving. Now, economical times being what they are, we have some restrictions on where we can travel. As much as we would love to go to British Columbia or Moab, we will need to stick closer to our homes, which are in Wisconsin and Minnesota. So, does anyone have any good ideas of places to go biking (again, singletrack mtn. biking, please) in the central North America area? If you have a map of the continent in front of you, please imagine or actually do this: Put your pencil on Buffalo, NY, and draw a circle counter clockwise from Buffalo through Ontario, Manitoba, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, a bit of Oklahoma, northern Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio, some of Pennsylvania, and back to Buffalo. It does not need to be a perfect circle. An oval would be acceptable as well. Do you know of any great places to spend 4 days mountain biking anywhere inside that circle/oval? We’re looking for some challenging trails that are good for full-suspension bikes. Suggestions for lodging (vacation properties, interesting hostels, or camping preferred, no hotels please) and fun area nightlife or decent brewery tours in the area of the bike trails would also be welcome. Thanks everyone!

Looking to RELOCATE in US, OUT of Minnesota?

Oh sure, Minnesota is Beautiful (it really is) and we have a lot of Natural Resources that make it so, and in many ways, it’s people are second to none.

HOWEVER, I am tired of the cold that comes along with winter.

I don’t mind snow, but not if it involves temperatures that dip anywhere under the 20 mark,
I LOVE Water (Pools, lakes, hot tubs, Rivers).
Prefer warm or hot over cold as far as climates, but not like S TEXAS Humidity!
Mountains, or at least hills are good.

I fish, swim, hike, ride horse. I love suburban areas over downtown or inner city life (although the nightlife is good). Rural living with a city of 20K or more within 20 mn is ideal LOL, am I just dreaming?

Neighbors are a good thing to me, I do get to know them when I BBQ!

I have good employment experience, owning a few companies including Security Patrol and Investigations, as well as Bounty Hunting, and as of late…..in the ad specialty or promotional product/apparel industries.

Im very involved in community. At age 37 I am not actively on a Fire~Rescue squad but have been for the past 7 yrs and would do it again if there was a need.

Love hospitality!

Any thoughts, ideas, or directions? I just need a change in life and Minnesota no longer feels like home. Born in Anaheim CA, but that was a while back (1972) and moved to Mn in 82.

Where in Minneapolis Should I live?

Hello everyone,
I will soon be moving to Minneapolis for work, I just graduated college and am starting my career. As I do not know anyone that lives there and have only been there for a very short time a long time ago. I need help

I am looking for a nice area, that is safe for a city!(I know it is a city but I am looking for the safer areas for a 24 year old single women) I will most likely rent for the 1st year or less than look to buy. I would like to rent a house or townhouse. As I have 2 big dogs that need space to play(fenced). I can spend 0 to 00 a month on rent

I am not a huge nightlife person but being somewhat close would help. I would like to be around people that are in the same stage of life of me. However I am a little bit of an old soul! The the typical 24 isn’t really how I act.

Names of the area or zip codes would be a huge help in my search!

Thank you everyone

Anybody from Minneapolis?

I’m considering moving to Minneapolis and I was wanting some insight from anyone who resides there. I currently live in St. Louis and I’m tired of the humid summer weather. I love Minnesota and the north in general. I’m a 23 year old single male with a marketing management degree. What’s your take on the city? How’s the nightlife? Single scene? Workforce? Attractions? Housing costs?

Any input you could give me would be a big help. Thanks!

Moving to Minneapolis, 30 year old single women, wants to know what areas i should look at for apartments?

I would like to be able to walk to shopping and restaurants. Not big into bars and nightlife, but will not know anyone in town, so i want to be in an area the i can easy meet other people. So probably not in a suburb where it would be harder to meet people. willing to spend 1200 on rent, want to be in a safe area. any suggestions from some locals would be great, thanks.
