This is the first time I have sold a home, and I decided not to use a real estate agent. As a matter-of-fact, I already had a buyer that wanted to buy it “as is”, so there was no need for an agent. I was wondering if there is anything that I am legally obligated to do?
I guess what I’m asking is what am I obligated to do as the seller (other than provide a contract that stipulates the home is being sold “as is”)? This guy is ready to “sign a contract” to get the process moving and I don’t know what to do next! Does he hire an attorney for the contract or do I, or is this something his lender will provide?
From start to finish, just exactly what has to be done for the home to be sold and the money in my bank without any legal complications?
P.S. There is a mortgage and a lien on the home
