We will be moving to the Minneapolis area. Looking for family-friendly areas with excellent schools?
We will be moving to the Minneapolis area for my husband’s job shortly. What areas have the best schools and are nice, safe and family-friendly? Also, the area needs to be a reasonable commute to the airport! Great schools and an upper-middle class area are a must! Any recommendations?

I think Woodbury might work for you. It is east of the metro and relatively a close commute to the airport, the mall and Ikea, all of which are relatively close together. Edina is upper middle class and Eagan is also. And both of those are close to the airport. Bloomington and Richfield are more average middle class.

Eagan, Burnsville, Apple Valley, Rosemount, Lakeville areas, all have great school systems, friendly suburb communities, VERY close to HHH Airport and Minneapolis International Airport, Mall of America, (all in Bloomington) and within minutes of most major highways in the Twin Cities.

I would suggest Apple Valley or Burnsville. The ones mentioned above are ok too, but i think these are more what you are looking for- good for families with kids yet still near the airport.
